Meet our Staff! 


Director Beth |
Beth Wozniak is going into her 14th year as the founder, director and encourager of the kids.  She played 4 years in high school in Minnesota, then 4 years as a middle hitter at Wheaton college.  She has a passion for the game and loves to watch girls develop their volleyball skills as well as their character.  She believes sports teaches a lot of important life lessons.   She is married to Mike and has 4 adult kids, including 2 daughters that played volleyball thru high school.  In her free time she loves to build things, renovate their house, sew, travel, watch volleyball games & hang out with her family.

Coach Danielle | Danielle Davies is going on her 6th year coaching for Aim High.  She played college volleyball at GRCC and has coached for several years for various clubs. She is currently the JV coach at FHE.  She has a 6 year old girl & 3 year old boy.

Coach Ashley | Ashley Griffin is going into her 5th year coaching for Aim High, She has previously coached high school volleyball at Wyoming, Forest Hills Eastern, and Zeeland East.  Ashley also previously coached for FarOut volleyball as well. During her volleyball career she has played middle and right side.  She is currently in her 7th year of teaching elementary special education at Challenger Elementary in Kentwood. Ashley is married and she and her husband have a son, Roman and a daughter Brynnley.

Coach Mitchell | This is Mitchell’s 5th year coaching with Aim High. He is the varsity coach at Potter’s House High School, and also the men’s coach at Grand Rapids Chr. High.  He previously coached the men’s club  team at Calvin College. Mitchell grew up in a volleyball-obsessed family
near Denver, Colorado. A setter and outside hitter in high school, Mitchell moved to Grand Rapids to attend Calvin College, and continued his playing career there as a libero. Mitchell spends the majority of his time on his day job
as a civil engineer, but squeezes in as much volleyball as possible. Mitchell lives on the west side of Grand Rapids with his wife Julie.

Coach Katie | This is Katie’s 5th season at Aim High. She is married to Korey and currently works at Harrison Chiropractic.  She is fanatical about fitness and being outdoors and loves to spoil her cat Sebastian.  She also does competitive power lifting!  She played volleyball at FHN and continues to play as much as she can!

Coach Alissa | Alissa is in her 4th year coaching at Aim High. She has coached at the middle school and high school levels for FHE, FHN, and Allendale High School. Alissa fell in love with volleyball as a middle-schooler and has been playing ever since. She brings 26 years of playing and 16 years of coaching experience with her. When Alissa isn’t on the court, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and watching her daughters play volleyball and soccer. Alissa is currently a middle school language arts teacher at FHE where she also coaches 8th grade volleyball.

Coach Charli – Charli is in her 2nd year of coaching at Aim High.  She is originally from Memphis, where she played volleyball all through high school. When she moved up to Michigan to attend Calvin University she played club volleyball. She graduated with her bachelors in kinesiology; exercise science in 2019 and is now working at Spectrum Health as a patient advocate.

Charli and her husband Noah both LOVE sports and sports performance. She is so excited to be part of this program and to continue coaching!

Coach Marleigh– This is Marleigh’s 2nd year coaching for Aim High.  She is originally from the East side of the state and came here to play volleyball at Calvin University. She is a junior Defensive specialist studying elementary and early childhood education at Calvin. She started playing volleyball when she was 12 and feel in love with it! She is so excited to be coaching at Aim High again this year!

Coach Jake -Jake is in his 2nd year of coaching at Aim High.  He is currently the Kenowa Hills JV coach.  He was a two sport college athlete (football & basketball) and played two years for the Central Michigan Men’s Club Volleyball team during grad school. He entered coaching in 2016 and has spent the last 7 seasons as the junior varsity volleyball coach for Potter’s House. He is married to his wife, Katy, and they have a son, Nathan (3) & Isaiah (1).

Coach Kylene.  Though this is Kylene’s first year working with the Aim High program, but she brings 30 years of experience as a player, coach, parent, and superfan.  She is currently a 5th/6th grade volleyball coach through Forest Hills Public Schools, and has coached middle school athletes at other local volleyball clubs.  Her coaching is rooted in respect, character development, healthy self-esteem, and creating a supportive learning environment.  Outside of volleyball, she is a wife and a mother to two teenagers. She has spent her career as a social worker serving youth and families, and she currently works with the federal government in the area of child welfare policy and practice. She loves reading, nature, cooking, and sunshine.

This is Lara’s first year with Aim High! From 2005-2007 she coached U14 teams while living in Florida, and now has gotten back into coaching to spend quality time with her kids.

Lara has loved volleyball since she was at Forest Hills Northern High School. She went on to play at DePaul University where her team won the 2001 Conference USA Championship to go to the NCAA Tournament. Then, after graduation while living in Florida, she played in numerous AVP Qualifier tournaments.

 

 

When Lara isn’t coaching for Aim High, she enjoys yoga and spending time with her husband Joe and their daughters Lily and Marie who both attend Forest Hills Central. Lara currently works at Amway where she is part of the Global Strategic Communications team.

Eliza is in her 3rd year coaching for Aim High.  She has played volleyball since 4th grade and went on to play at GRCC for 2 years and also Cornerstone this fall.  SHe loves the game and watching young players compete!
